Sir/Madam,
Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India (BPNI), the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) and the advocates and activists working on this issue, believe that breastfeeding is the right of all children and mothers. These organizations devote themselves to protect, promote and support that right. WABA sets the theme in motion and BPNI coordinates the action in India and the Asian Pacific countries through its country-wide network of BPNI branches at State and District units, as also its co-working organizations in other countries.
World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) is celebrated every year from 1st to 7th August to renew our commitment to the promotion of breastfeeding. We have been celebrating WBW since 1992. The theme for WBW 2003 is: Breastfeeding in a Globalised World
for peace and justice. The theme provides us an opportunity to consider the challenges of globalisation, while identifying the resources that globalisation can provide to celebrate breastfeeding as a symbol for peace and justice.
We request you to conduct programs like, essay competition, painting competition and debate, etc. on the theme i.e. "Breastfeeding in a Globalised World for peace and justice" in your school / college. With regards Yours sincerely, __________________________
