Dr Arun Gupta is a senior pediatrician with more than 37 years of experience, founder and central coordinator of the Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India (BPNI) since 1991. He chose to give up private practice to work for breastfeeding policy, has been able to bring “breastfeeding” issues to forefront of discussions both at national level and international level. He is the regional coordinator of IBFAN Asia since 2002. He has been the member of Steering Committee of WABA. In 2008 he was invited to be a Member of the Prime Ministers Council for India’s Nutrition Challenges. He chairs the Core group of the joint IBFAN WABA “Global Breastfeeding Initiative for Child Survival” (gBICS) in partnership with Norad. He has extensively written to raise the voice of infants, in the Economic and Political Weekly, Times of India, and Civil Society. He has been quoted extensively for the issues in national press and international media. He has created the innovative programmes to mobilise action on breastfeeding like World Breastfeeding Trends Initiative (WBTi) and WBCi.
Dr. JP Dadhich

Dr. JP Dadhich is a senior Paediatrician with 24 years of experience, based in Delhi, trained in Neonatology, Developmental Neurology, Infant and Young Child Feeding including HIV, and Research Methods. Presently, he is the consultant for HIV and breastfeeding programmes for International Baby food Action Network (IBFAN) – Asia, Co-coordinator, World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) Taskforce on Global Advocacy, South Asia Regional Focal Point Coordinator for World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), and Chairperson of the Taskforce on Breastfeeding of the National Neonatology Forum of India. He has Contributed chapters in text books on various subjects including Newborn Care, Pediatric care, Infant and young child nutrition etc. He has review and research articles published in pediatric, neonatology and nutrition journals. He has also contributed in editing of Journals, policy documents, position statements, training modules, conference reports etc. on breastfeeding, infant and young child feeding, newborn health, child survival, etc.

Dr.Neelima Thakur is an anthropologist with 12 years of experience in quantitative and quantitative research. She has done her Masters in Physical Anthropology then Ph.D in maternal and child health care from Pt. Ravishankar University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. She is a trained IYCF counseling specialist. She has 10 research publications in national and international journals to her credit. Presently she is involved in research on various important issues concerning Infant and Young Child Feeding Practices and IMS Act.

Vibharika Chandola holds Master’s in Home Science with specialisation in Development Communication and Extension from Delhi University. Her passion for working for women and children brought her to BPNI. In the past she has worked in the area of training, communication, community outreach and research. She is the National Trainer for IYCF Training and has successfully conducted several training courses across India.

Nupur Bidla holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work with specialization in Health and Development from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She has recently been registered as a PhD Scholar at Department for Social Work, Jamia Milia Islamia, Delhi. Her experience profile of more than 5 years includes education, health, training, media advocacy and development communication. Her work profile involves handling communication for BPNI/IBFAN Asia, networking, publications and Campaigns/Global and local, IMS Act monitoring and local & global fundraising.

Amit is an expert in desktop publishing, logistic & operation management with more than 16 years of experience. His work involves designing & printing publications and handling logistic management for IYCF training, national workshops & conferences and administrative budget planning.

Mr. Khan has been working as a programme assistant (Accounts) in BPNI since 2012. He has experience in taxation accounting billing & vouchering. He has more than 16 years of experiences in working with social organizations. Presently his work include account handling, networking with banks, networking with hospitals for promotion of counseling centre & parents guide book.
