Dr. Arun Gupta
Chief Coordinator

Dr. Arun Gupta, Chief Coordinator, BPNI is a pediatrician, a Fellow of Indian Academy of Pediatrics who chose to give up his lucrative private practice and founded the ‘Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India’ (BPNI) in 1991. He focuses on policy analysis regarding support to breastfeeding women, child nutrition and conflicts of interest. He writes nationally and internationally. He is the creator of IBFAN’s World Breastfeeding Trends Initiative (WBTi). He is the convener of the “Alliance Against Conflict of Interest” (AACI)and “Nutrition Advocacy in Public Interest” (NAPI) in India for policy level inputs.

 

Dr. Nupur Bidla, PhD
Central Coordinator

Dr. Nupur Bidla holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work with specialization in Health and Development from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She received her PhD in Social Work from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi and her thesis was on the practice of breastfeeding in public spaces . She has more than a decade of experience in the field of policy, media advocacy, health, and development, training and development communication. She is a member of Nutrition Advocacy in Public Interest, a national think tank on nutrition policy and work extensively on ultra processed foods and policy changes against unhealthy packaged food in India. She has been a Guest Faculty at the Mass Communication and Research Centre (MCRC), Jamia Millia Islamia, Central University, Delhi. Her work profile involves handling breastfeeding and nutrition policy and media advocacy campaigns, networking, fundraising , publications, IMS Act monitoring and local & global work on IYCF and nutrition advocacy.

 

Veena Rawat
Programme Officer, Communication

Veena Rawat works as a Program Officer (Information & Communication). She is been with BPNI since 2010 and manages the reception, international and national postage, BPNI life members database, official email accounts , filing & maintenance of records.

 

 

Amit Dahiya
Senior Programme Officer , Administration

Amit is an expert in desktop publishing, logistic & operation management with more than 16 years of experience. His work involves designing & printing publications and handling logistic management for IYCF training, national workshops & conferences and administrative budget planning.

 

 

 

Reema Dutta
Programme Officer, 

Reema Dutta is a public health and nutrition professional currently serving as a program officer with the Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India (BPNI). She has a background in Public Health with a Master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Public Health, Gandhinagar (IIPHG), Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition and a Bachelors (B.Sc) in Home Science from Delhi University. She has more than 2 years of experience. Her work focuses on infant and young child health and nutrition advocacy and research specifically supporting breastfeeding initiatives and policies that align with her expertise in public health.

 

Harshita Goel
Programme Officer,  

Harshita Goel is currently serving as a Programme Officer at the Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India (BPNI). She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Manav Rachna University, where she graduated with a Gold Medal for academic excellence. She has volunteered for WHO in the polio programme in 2024. Her research work has focused on ultra-processed foods (UPFs) and adolescent health, reflecting her commitment to evidence-based nutrition policy and public health advocacy with a strong foundation in nutrition science and community health.
